i am getting quite annoyed with always wearing black tank tops and being dubbed the emo kid.( although i dont stereotype, you know what i mean =)

so your advice is greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Extreme sweating?
i think thats hot. don't do anything.
Reply:ok so i had the same problem, it can be so lame! just go to your doctor and ask for aluminum chloride. it's just a cheap, special rx antiperspirant that will make you stop sweating completely!
Reply:I heard botox injections under your armpits work.
Reply:have you ever seen that commercial for the secret clinical deodorant thing, well it REALLY works i had the same problem and it helped a lot!
Reply:Look for an antiperspirant with aluminum chloride. This is the active ingredient in most antiperspirants that works by blocking the pores to prevent sweat from escaping. While you may have heard rumors about aluminum chloride being linked to diseases such as breast cancer, it has never been proven to increase any health risks, says Jim Garza, M.D., founder of The Hyperhidrosis Center in Houston.

If your excessive sweating is consistent, and it happens regardless of your activity level, the temperature or the product you're using, talk to your doctor. It's possible that you could have hyperhidrosis, a condition that affects about 8 million Americans. People with hyperhidrosis suffer from extremely sweaty hands, feet and underarms due to overstimulation of the sweat glands, Garza explains.

If you have do have the condition, your doctor can work with you to investigate treatment options. Drysol, an aluminum-chloride and ethyl-alcohol solution, is available by prescription. It's usually applied at night and washed off in the morning, and should be used until the sweating is under control. Botox, the popular injectable wrinkle remedy, also can be used to control sweating; injected into the skin, it temporarily paralyzes the sweat glands in the treated area. The procedure is done in a doctor's office and needs to be repeated only once or twice yearly--at a cost of about $600-$700 per treatment.
Reply:When you say you've tried all the deodorants, are you including clinical deodorants like certain dri or prescription deodorant, Drysol?

Clinical deodorants contain higher levels of Aluminum Chloride. That's the ingredient that blocks your sweat pores and prevents the wetness.

Other than clinical deodorant, my suggestions would be:

-Drink more water to lower your body temperature.

- Exfoliate your underarms while showering. This helps

- Use an antibacterial soap on your sweating parts in the shower. This drys out the skin.

- Avoid caffeine, spicy foods and alcohol

- Wear breathable clothing material

Im soooo sweaty PLEASE HELP ME!!! sweating for no reason!?
try this article too http://www.squidoo.com/underarmsweating
Reply:cheers.. just make sure you only go through the link in the article itself, otherwise i dont get any 'brownie points' for my effort! :) thx Report It

Reply:you can try an alum block, which is at health stores, and also when you can get an anti-persperant which prevents sweating. Good luck!
Reply:your at the age when puberty starts to happen . ask your mom the next time you go to the store to get u some deoderant/ anti persprant . if it continues they now sell clinical strength over the counter and if all fails talk to your doctor about it and he/she should be able to help you
Reply:DEGREE deorderant works to stop sweating your dad might use it try his deodorant..

some people just have extra sweat glands
Reply:I have it too...I highly recommend Lady Speed Stick deodorant (found at any grocery store or pharmacy), or Degree deodorant (also found in regular stores). In the meantime, wear white shirts! White sweatshirts, white t-shirts, etc...so that when you sweat, no one will see.

I put on Degree deodorant one day (in the morning) and lady Speed Stick on the next day, and i basically alternate between the two each day. If i'm scared that i'm still going to sweat, i wear either black or white shirts/jackets. Also, instead of sweatshirts, wear jackets (like North Faces) because sweat can't possibly go through them...

good luck!!!
Reply:okay, i have the EXACT same problem. I got it when I was young too! I feel your pain :(. but there are solutions!!!! First, talk to your mom seriously. tell her you know deoderant is not the thing and you want an antiperpirant! there are many types of antiperspirants (they stop the SWEATING) there are some by the brand secret: http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand...

and I find that the one that works best is called certain dri. you apply it at night and can find it at any drug store. it STOPS sweating. and don't worry, it is NOT dangerous to use antiperspirants, you have plenty of other ways to cool down than your under arms. I would talk to your mother. tell her how you feel and what solutions there are. best of luck and I hope i helped. trust me, i know what you are dealing with! p.s. going to a doctor for prescription antiperspirants works well too! xoxo
Reply:I stink too! Perhaps it is hormones. They will and do wreak havik on bodily functions and smells. I notice that if I eat onions, I extra smell!

Terrible sweating problem!!!!?

I am 14 years old and I think I have this disease called hypothyroidism

Well I have this bad sweating problem. I sweat so bad that it even goes right trew my cloths.

I even use deoderent and I still sweat alot.

I have heard of this botox thing

but can I use it at my age.

Or please try to give me other solutions

Thank You

Terrible sweating problem!!!!?
There are a couple of prescription-strength antiperspirants on the market, Certain Dri and Secret Clinical Strength. Ask your parent about these; they both do contain aluminum, but if you keep it to your underarms only, it can be used.
Reply:Some people sweat a lot and some people don't sweat. It doesn't mean you have hypothyroidism. My Dr. prescribed "Drysol" for excessive sweating. Talk to your Dr.
Reply:I have the same exact problem, it stinks. I use Secret Clinical Strength and I put it on before I go to bed, it helps.
Reply:I'm 15 and i kinda have the same problem but i have hyperhydrosis but all i did was looked it up on google and just kinda got familiar with what causes it and then looked at what i could do to prevent it and it also said something about botox and surgery! so just talk to your parents and maybe they can help you out!
Reply:you can try Certain Dry Anti-Perspirant for your underarms you can buy it at any store like longs it is not that expensive it works . or put rubbing alcohol on.
Reply:Don’t however, think that botox or cosmetic surgery is the only option for your sweating problem. There are other methods and these involve strong medications which can inhibit sweat production by the body, or as is mostly the case, will lead to a lessening of sweat production.

These medications should only be taken under medical supervision as some people can have adverse reactions to them.

Here is a list of few conventional and inexpensive ideas to control your sweating problem. http://my-sweating.info

If they don't work, I suggest you talk to your parents and your family doctor to resolve your excessive sweating problem.

Cheers

Excessive Sweating?

I sweat very easy all over. I can be in a -40* freezer with just a coat on and doing very little work and i end up sweating.I have also gained weight and only eat about 1 meal a day sometimes 2 but most of the time 1. I play Racquetball 2 times a week for about 3 hours each time. Seems like the weight just came on all of a sudden. The sweating makes it miserable for me and people around me. I cant even take a woman out dancing because of this. can you help?

Excessive Sweating?
mmmmmmmmm...my best advice would be talk with your physician, to insure that this is nothing health related. Then, if it is just the hygiene issue, that's easy...wear absorbent clothing...try to maintain an environment with suitable temperatures and humidity, wear extra-strong antiperspirants, and who knows, maybe your physician can prescribe something to help...whether it is serious issue or not. I would say it isn't, be be sure...I have 2 friends who have same issues...neither is medical..just overactive sweat glands....they do fine...good luck!!!
Reply:well i use to swet under my armpits when i was younger and it could be cold just like u r dooin i used baby powder and i changed deodrants
Reply:same for me i sweat for nothing! just imagine me during basketball season and track! im drenched with sweat!

Why am I sweating so much, and how can I stop it?

I'm 14 years old, and for the past year or so I've been sweating alot under my armpits. I wear layered clothing, and sweaters all the time to make the sweat stains non-noticable. When I'm in hot rooms, I sweat more. I've used a number of antiperspirants/deodorants but it still doesn't work. What can help stop the sweating?

Why am I sweating so much, and how can I stop it?
try wearing natural, non man-made fibres such as cotton to help your skin "breathe" easier. Also don't wear tight fitting clothing, and most of all, don't worry or feel self conscious as this will make you feel worse ...
Reply:maybe you need to take a bath every nite and then apply anti/deoderant before you go to sleep like secret clinical prescription, mitchum for woman soft solid kind or something that has high concentration percentage. Hope this help and take care Report It

Reply:dont get a wrong diagnose on the sweats Report It

Reply:Many reasons for sweating. Look up excessive sweating on the net. There are good answers there.

Bad sweating problem?

i have a really bad sweating problem. im 22 so its not hormones. i mean bad, as soon as i put on a shirt it is soaked even when its cold. my hands and feet and the back of my legs sweat badly. im normal weight, and all my thyroid tests, and vitamin levels and pretty much every other test possible have been performed on me recently. no deodarent works, men, women percription strength. its so embarassing. i drink tons of water, and i dont drink, or do drugs. why do i sweat as much as a pro wrestler?

Bad sweating problem?
It does sound like hyperhidrosis. There are many treatments available including drugs, topical treatments, acupuncture etc. If those fail to work in some cases surgery is an option and has been known to be very successful.

Sometimes the excessive sweating is part of some other condition (secondary hyperhidrosis) which would be why they're performing all those tests on you. If no cause can be found then you'll likely be diagnosed with Primary Hyperhidrosis which is more rare.

Keep going to the doctor and trying every treatment, hopefully you'll find one that works.
Reply:It sounds like hyperhidrosis -- you should check with your doctor. Or google it - there are a lot of products on the market that claim to work, but I have no clue what is good.

Excessive sweating?

so i sweat a lot, under my arms. it can be hot. it can be cold. but i always sweat. its really embarassing, so usually i just wear sweatshirts year round, even if its 90 degrees out, and im outside running around. sometimes it even goes through my sweatshirt, if its one of the tightly fit ones (like they have at hollister and aeropostale). ive tried secret clinical deodorant.. or whatever its called.. the stuff you put on at night. it hasnt helped at all. im 16, in high school.. so maybe its something to do with puberty. does anyone know what i can do (besides surgery and botox stuff) to stop sweating so much? even if it just helps a little ill be very greatful. thank you.

Excessive sweating?
I had the exact same problem and had tried all store bought '24 dryness' deodorants. I went to the doctor, they prescribed me driclor (available in some chemists/drug stores) which you apply underarms or wherever else every night for two weeks, then drop it down to every few days, then eventually to once a week.

It works! It's a miracle worker, give it a fair go, it WILL make your underarms very dry for those two weeks but it's worth it definitely, no doubt about it. I am now completely sweat free.

It's a star :)
Reply:You can get injections at clincs and hospital; they inject this stuff into your armpits to stop it from happening.

And as for why does it happen, it's just your body. All bodies are different, love,.
Reply:get a really good deodarabt like secret clinacal strenght and put it on throughout the day or whenever you feel embarased
Reply:well, there could be a possibility that it has to do with puberty, but check to see if ur mom or dad went through this, or any of ur relatives. it could be in the genes.
Reply:I use dry sol. You can get it at a drug store...im not sure if you can get it without a perscription. You put it on at night and remove it in the morning. If you put on too much you can get irritation. 1 aplication will keep you dry for about 2 weeks, remember to wear your deoderant as usual, but dry sol will help stop excessive sweating.
Reply:okay, i know what its like not to wear shirts you want to and having to cover up in sweatshirts and such even when it's cold because of sweating. tried everything like arm and hammer , dove clinical and was even thinking about the surgery to correct it and thats when i went to the dermatologist. sweetie what i can recommend to you and please take this advice, ask for DRYSOL. you apply it once every few days( it's a topical solution). it burns a bit at first but trust me it works!!! i have never been happier to finally wear some nice feminine shirts.!!!! hope this helps!
