What makes a body sweat excessively? Not underarm sweating, but facial and body sweat.?

Not underarm sweating, but facial and body sweat. Especially when your out among public, like talking with friends or shopping.

What makes a body sweat excessively? Not underarm sweating, but facial and body sweat.?
I am not sure what causes all of the sweating, perhaps it is the anxiety. But I did see on a plastic surgery show recently that they are injecting some of the sweat glands with Botox and it stops the sweating, for a while. If you are really uncomfortable and it causes more stress, you might look in to that. Best of luck!
Reply:It's anxiety. You might feel awkward or excited in a situation and your heart rate gets faster, causing your body to overheat.
Reply:you may be overheating. drink cold fluids. if you take hot showers, cool down with cold water when you are gettin out. wear lighter fitting and lighter colored clothes.

try to relax and ignore it. it may make you sweat more if you stress out about it. just go to the restroom to freshen up when you start to feel damp

Sweating at times?

is there any reason why i am sweating at certain times of the day without doing any activity at all...i do have pain in my throat when i swallow, could this be the cause of my sweating, trying to get rid of something? maybe an infection?

thanks i appreciate the answers

Sweating at times?
Sure, redsox is absolutely correct here. If you have a problem with your endocrine system, it can cause mysterious sweating. Thyroid pops to mind. Get it checked out. It is obviously not menopause, which is MY problem, so have a physical which is a good idea for everyone once a year or so. Good luck.
Reply:Thank you for the 10 points. I hope your trip to the doctor turns up nothing sinister. I will be thinking of you. DHW Report It

Reply:Sounds like glandular problem. You should see an endocrinologist.
Reply:What time of day are you prone to sweating? I know that after you eat your heart rate increases because your body is working harder to metabolize the food you have eaten, so maybe it's why you are sweating?? Also, if you eat spicy food, or drink hot tea you will sweat more.
Reply:Instead of asking three questions, all related to your throat problem, you should be making an appointment with your doctor. No one here can tell you exactly what you have.Even if someone is a doctor, they cannot help unless they look at you, which is definitely not an option.

Good luck and get well.
Reply:See your doctor
Reply:Best way is to see a doctor because many illnesses share same symptoms you need to be examined dear

hope you get well soon

Sweating Wife?

My wife is 61, past menopause (so we thought) but still has these occasional sweating episodes. She is not on any kind of hormone therapy and generally healthy.

The episodes generally happen in bed. They can happen spontaneously and can also be triggered by an external temperature change such as me snuggling up next to her. When I do that sometimes one minute later, BANG, she breaks out in this cold clammy sweat.

This doesn't always happen but it is annoying and not conducive to physical relationships if you get the picture.

So what's going on? Any women solved this problem?

Sweating Wife?
Well my husband would complain right along with you however I'm only 28. It seems as though even after woman pass menopause (according to my mom that we still have the occasional hot flashes) But I've noticed that it has more to do with the fact that my hubby is a small thin guy and not that I am fat but I am heavier than him therefore retain more body heat. I don't know that this is applicable but I can't handle him snuggling with the blankets on. As crazy as it sounds we set the thermostat lower and I usually sleep with less clothing to try to combat this. I would say she should check in with her doc to see if maybe she is having some hormonal issues. It may also be connected with seratonin (sp) as it can cause some strange tempreture effects if it is out of balance.
Reply:a little insinitive arent you???? try over the counter hormone thearpy
Reply:Even though she is past menopause she can occasionaly still have the night sweats as they are called. There is no need to worry it just happens.
Reply:One thing that you can try is to have the tempature in the house a little cooler. This will make her want to get in a blanket to stat warm and make sure the blanket is light when you are trying to cuddle with her. This happens to me when I sleep and as long as it is really cool in the house I don't break into a sweat. Even if the hubby is beside me.
Reply:It can happen, but the best advice would be for your wife to talk to her primary practioner ie. her doctor.
Reply:the situation not being conducive to physical relationships may actually be a result of her being old as dirt

Sweating after excercise?

I've jus finished excercising and I was sweating like crazy. I heard thats suppose to be good but do I hab to clean it after. I know that its gross if u dont but this yoga instructor said taking a shower aafter excercise is bad fro your body and that helps you gain more weight. But if I dont wont the sweat go back inside my body?

Sweating after excercise?
I sweat a lot during and after exercising. I don't shower at the gym, so by the time I get home, I am usually dry but my clothes are soaked. I shower "very warm water" to relax my muscles and bones. I have lost 112 pounds and have never put it back on because of a "shower". Maybe a snickers bar but not from a "shower". Plus best to shower after, keeps infections down in your private areas.
Reply:whhhhaaaa? why would it be bad? I think you should take a cold shower
Reply:Sweat usually evaporates to keep your body cool... personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with taking a shower after you exercize. I don't see a connection how not showering can "help you gain more weight." Gaining weight has to to with your body's metabolism and how it processes the foods you eat!

Drink plenty of fluids!
Reply:I don't know about sweat going back into the body, that sounds strange, but letting the sweat evaporate on you and staying in damp work out clothes could give you a rash and make you stink. I think you need to ask that yoga instructor to clarify what they said because it doesn't sound right.
Reply:Very Easy, Relax your mind after the exercise, take your m ind of the exercise and soon you will see the changes !
Reply:Both you and your Yoga insructor are on the good ship lollypop aren't you?

You're obsessed with me,admit it.
Reply:Once you have done your exercises and you have done your sweating it will not go back into your body. It is completely untrue as to what your yoga instructor has told you.

I have worked in a physical therapy department and that is the silliest thing that I have ever heard.

Sweating problems?

How do I prevent from sweating? Any ways?

Any ways to prevent odour after sweating?

Sweating problems?
Use deorderant.
Reply:No, don't use deo, the that only fixes smell.

Anti-Perspirant is what you want, as it stops sweating.
Reply:Deodorant. Antiperspirant. Bathing. Air conditioning.
Reply:Drysol should eliminate it, sometimes 4ever, anyway u should ask the doctor, also 4 armpits a natural way is using magnesium milk, GL
Reply:Sweating is healthy for you. Although, if you drink a lot of hot liquids and acidic foods regularly, then you will sweat more profusively. Fruit helps a lot with that and so do certain greens, the darkler, the better.

Sweating problem?

HI my sister wont stop whining about how she cant stop sweating so im going on here so she'll stop whining and she says she has a sweating problem cuase there a tiny litte bit on her shirts

Sweating problem?
ROFL!!! Tops with sponges on the armpits!!! LMFAO!!
Reply:Go to the doctor and get a prescription deoderant.

It will stop all sweating. And it will give her confidence.

It is very strong and will keep her dry : )

Most are unscented, so after you apply the prescribed

deoderant, let it dry then apply a sencond regular good

smelling deoderant. And it may be irratating at first, because

its soo strong, but use a little every two days, then

everyday.

Good luck to her!

She wont need the shirt if she gets a prescription...

I promise it will work!
Reply:She can try that new Degree Clinical Protection, that or any Degree deoderant.

Or botox shots in her armpit. It allows you to not sweat for at least six months.
Reply:i thoght that i sweated a lot untill i tryed teen spirt deoterant and it works better for me that all of the other i have tried

Sweating issues...?

Okay I have a bad sweating problem and the summer is coming up and Im kinda nervous about wearing short sleeves because i dont want sweat marks...any ideas to help avoid this..im thinking of switching to a different deodorant...

Sweating issues...?
My friend had the same problem and they recommende her to change of deoderant and use Certain-Dri. Ever since she started using it, she has seen that she doesn't sweat anymore and there are no new sweat marks on her shirts. She told me that at first, it kind of gave her a burn when she put it on, but it still helped her. She's already been using it for a year and is very happy w/the product. At first, she bought at Walgreens, but then she saw it at Walmart for $2 less, so I'd recommend you to buy it at Walmart. Good luck: )
Reply:a really strong deoderant

and if that doesnt work cary alot of napkins and use when u need them
Reply:eww
Reply:ok...there are more simple ways or dramatic ways of going about this...i have the same problem..and i'm a girl so it's pretty much a huge deal. So...

1.) Switch deodorants monthly or whatever, you body gets used to the same old same old

2.) use baby powder...not too much or you'll have white marks but just enough to suck up excess

3.) Use deodorant without scents, use like mild to no scent

4.) I found the arm %26amp; hammer baking soda deodorants work great

5.) you can ask your doctor to prescribe you deodorant or something to help with the problem (insurance will only cover this if the doctor says you have a problem)

6.) Botox injections to the armpits helps also, but are very expensive.
Reply:i agree with so lovely use certain dry it really works just read the directions carefully i swear it works though
Reply:i have the same problem. i use mitchum but i think im going to switch.
Reply:What you have is called hyperhydrosis (spelling?). I have, or had it, and I went to a plastic surgeon for about a year and a half and got botox injections about every 6 months. I have not gotten anymore injections in about 3 years, because it must have killed some of the overactive nerves, and now I can control it with certain dry. It seems to be coming back now, the nerves must be regrowing, so I might go get another round of botox. The botox works absolutely wonderfully, but I try to keep that to a minimum. I say go to your doctor for a consult and try the certain-dry before taking any meds or getting botox. I had one doctor put me on meds like 10 years ago, and they made me feel so strange, I quit them after a week. So if the certain-dry wont work, then invest in the botox, it will change your life!! Most reputable plastic surgeons will give you a free consult.
Reply:Make suer you use an antiperspirant, not a plain deodorant.
Reply:my friend had this same problem. the doctor perscribed drysol and it works really well. it's perfect for wearing short sleeves. my friend never wore short sleeves even in the summer.
Reply:Certain Dry.
Reply:Mitchum works well for me.

Sweating problem?

my husband has a problem where his palms sweat alot, even when it is not that warm.

in uk there is no cure for this unless to cut the nerve in the shoulder, but they dont do it to people under a certain age and cus it is risky.

my question is that should he drink more water? and eat more salty things? as he is losing water and salt by sweating.

Sweating problem?
Take him to the dermotologist.

They should be able to perscribe an Aluminum Chloride solution to help cut down on the sweating on his palms.

Check it out online too.

Good luck
Reply:he could get injections taht make it stop or you can have surgery to remove excess sweat gland.
Reply:cutting the nerve off so your husband wouldn't sweat that much is pretty risky. people who sweat a lot in their underarms have undergone surgeries to take out some of their sweat glands in their armpits. maybe you should go check some cosmetologist. if your husband's condition is pathologic, meaning it gives him problems because he loses a lot of salt and electrolytes because of excessive sweating in the palms, then you should go consult a physician. he might be prescribed with salt tablets to prevent metabolic derangements. hope this one helps.
Reply:I think U need 2 get him 2 a Doc.

Over-sweating could B mean many things but he could have a under lying medical reason.

%26amp; while UR there ask the Doc 4 a prescription 4 Aluminium Oxide.( I know it's aluminium, think it's Oxide).
Reply:dont let him have that surgery--its causing BAD side effects in thos of us who've had it.

you can read in this forum for advice on on remedies. (we're not selling anything..and you dont have to pay to register, just a group of people who had ETS surgery)

Please do not have the surgery--its diabled many people including myself =(

Sweating when exercising?

I understand the science of sweating to control body temperature. However if two people of similar age and lifestyles were particapting in the same activity and one person started sweating before the other, does that mean that they are unfitter or able to efficietly cool down their body

Sweating when exercising?
The onset of sweating doesn't indicate anything about a person's fitness because there is too much variability in the way people sweat. A fit person tends to sweat sooner than an unfit person, but sweating rates seem to be more of a genetic trait than an indicator of fitness. So, if you increased your fitness level, you would probably sweat sooner and more than you do now, but a total couch potato can still out-do a person that is physically fit if their bodies are naturally more sweaty.

The efficiency of sweating depends on how well the sweat output matches the heat production of the body. People who sweat too much or too little both have low efficiency. However, sweating too much is healthier than sweating too little because the sweating removes waster products from the body, and the sweatier person is less likely to overheat.
Reply:usually the fatter one sweats more
Reply:yes. could also depend on the clothes they are wearing. =)
Reply:I sweat very easily in my gym class and I sweat even more than those that are not as fit as me. I think it just depends on your bodys reaction.
Reply:the fittest one will take longer to start sweating because his body is more efficient cooling down. Assuming the temperature is stable and the activity is the same.
Reply:yall may have the same life style but all bodies are different. %'s of fat and muscle vary...
Reply:If you take twins that have had everything the same, but one has better physical training, and you put them on the same strain, the twin with better physical condition will activate first his mechanism of cooling down - sweating.
Reply:All things being equal the fitter person will start sweating sooner, the body which is used to exercise becomes more efficient at cooling itself. An overweight person sweating just sitting still is different issue altogether.
Reply:Possibly, but not necessarily. You (in an unfit state) will start sweating before you (in a fit state).

At the same time, there is wide variation among individuals in terms of sweat rate. Some sweat a lot at the drop of a hat (like me) even when in peak condition. Some don't.

----

A couple more notes: I find I'm able to handle competition in hot weather better than most, provided I have access to sufficient water to replace what I've lost. I believe this is partially due to my high sweat rate.

It works against me in cold weather, because I still sweat. After an hour or so I'm drenched and hypothermic.

Does heavy sweating make you urinate less?

I have noticed that when i am sweating a real lot, i don't have to go when i usually do have to go. Does heavy sweating make you lose enough fluids that you urinate less? For example, if I go in the morning, and play basketball for 6 hours drinking 4 bottles of gatorade, i still dont have to go at 3 o clock. Is this because of sweating?

Does heavy sweating make you urinate less?
The body is a wonderful machine. In essence, yes, if you sweat a lot and aren't fully hydrated, then you will pee less. You have a chemical in your body called anti-diuretic hormone (vasopressin) that is secreted from the pituitary gland. The kidneys will sense a loss in fluid volume because you are sweating so much. This hormone will then be released in the blood. It tells the body that it better start conserving water and fluid because it is being depleted. This then signals the kidneys to quit filtering out water and sodium that forms our urine. Instead, these products will be reabsorbed by the body to maintain the proper volume in the vessels. If you stay hydrated enough, you will continue to pee like you normally do. Because you are telling me that you are sweating a lot and still aren't peeing, then that tells me that you need to drink more fluid then you are. That's your body's way of telling you that it needs more fluid. Hope this helps!
Reply:i think so,

i use to work under the hot sun and i drink alot but only go a few time a day but normal day everything went to normal!!

i think that is normal!!
Reply:possibly , also there is alot of salt in gatorade and it may make you retain fluid.
Reply:It sure is! Here's some info which you might(or might not)find useful.
Reply:no water consumption is relived down below

perspiration is to cool your body off
Reply:yes. which is why you smell when you sweat a lot.
Reply:have you had a check for diabetes, this can cause a lot of sweating and urination,,in my humble opinion , it happened to me. not exactly what you asked.but it an extremely easy thing to check out

Too much sweating ='(?

i sweat a lot all over my body,.

one time the day was really hot for me, and i sweat a lot on my butt, some people were looking at me and probably thought that i pissed on my green short.

i get armpit stains,.my back often wet and even my head, my hair is always weighed down and i dont look fresh.

how to reduce sweating? i need it coz im a girl! it's embarrassing

Too much sweating ='(?
Some people will be facing this problem severely and they feel so bad and inconvenient about this.

First of all if possible, take bath 3 times a day with light warm water and with complexion and deodorant soaps only. While taking bath, put some quality sandal wood powder in the water and wash ur body.

After bath, take anti perspirants and deodorants as well.

U may be having some vitamin deficiency, and also some people who takes lots of non-veg or any oily foods, they sweat I think. So lessen ur oil in food and also non veg foods.

Take always fresh fruits and also vegetables in ur daily food and If it is not solved, then go to general physician and take advice.
Reply:Well for your armpits you could use a stronger antiperspirant. Also, make sure to put it on at night and in the morning. I would talk to your doctor, you could have a medical problem.
Reply:There are anti-perspirants for occasional use. If, by chance, you have too many sweat glands in particular areas, there are procedures for reducing them ( e.g. Botox injections or local application ). Your GP or dermatologist can advise.
Reply:Hi there,

One of my best friends had the same problem. She went to her doctor and she gave her some prescription deoderant/antipersperant and some other skin products. Your problem sounds a bit worse than hers, though. You need to go to a doctor to make sure it's not a hormonal problem or the symptom of a more serious health problem. There really is no over-the-counter quick fix for too much sweating. Try wearing clothes that wick mositure away from your skin. It may help a bit. Good luck and take care.
Reply:Aww.

I know exactly how it feels.

And honestly, there is nothing that will work except for Botox Injections.

My armpit's did the same thing and it was reaaally bad. My dermatologist told me to get the Botox Injections, which are tiny needles that inject Botox into your armpits and you'll stop sweating. Unfortunately, it is expensive. You can get the injections anywhere and it will stop.

Don't waist your money on deodorants, they DO NOT work.

Good Luck!!!

Sweating during dieting...?

I just started a new diet last week. Not really a diet as a change in my eating habit. I started eating almost nothing but fruits, vegetables and vitamins. I am a stay at home mother and just the past 3 days I have started sweating alot. I haven't started my workout routine yet so was wondering whats up with all the sweating... Am I starting to burn some of that extra fat I have lying around now that I'm eating healthier?

Sweating during dieting...?
I own a health and nutrition business and have taught fitness.

First of all, I should tell you that I lost 37 pounds in 1997 and have kept most of it off. I am 55 years old.

I will take issue a bit with your diet plan of choice. There is a better way than the way you have chosen. For one thing, the lack of protein can put your body way out of whack and cause muscle weakness. You need to add protein in the form of either lean meat, chicken or fish, either baked or broiled, or, if you are a vegetarian, eating high protein combinations such as legumes with rice or corn. Also, your diet of choice right now is going to be pretty devoid of b12, even with the supplements you are taking, because you may not be getting the absorbtion you need.

Are you taking your supplements on an empty stomach or with the food? Taking supplements on an empty stomach can sometimes cause light headedness and sweating. Make sure you are taking your supplements with food. And find a good sub-lingual b12. Sub-lingual means "under the tongue" which will deliver this vitamin directly to your bloodstream.

You need to add essential fatty acids - essential amino acids - to this diet. You can do this through addition of evening primrose oil, flax seed oil and cod liver oil. These are available in tablet form from any health food store, and from many of the Kroger stores such as Fred Meyers.

You may also be having some hormonal issues. The essential fatty acids mentioned above in all likelihood will also help with that, also, as well as adding some soy to the mix (which also adds needed protein).

Adding the workout ASAP will be incredibly helpful for balancing this out, too.

One other thing: make sure you are adding some whole grains to this mix, for the sake of soluable fiber. Anything whole grain (NO white flour anything!) or with oat bran instead of wheat bran will be helpful, clear out your cholesterol, and fill you up without adding a lot of calories while being easy on your digestive system.
Reply:Sweating and burning calories have absolutely no correlation in any professional article I have ever seen. Sweating just means your body is hot. It is nothing but water and electrolytes.

Good start with the eating but you need to make sure to take in proteins and fats along with those carbs. Also, your body is not using the vitamins unless you are exercising and stressing your body.

You are off to a good start, the sweating is not an indication of health, maybe the opposite. Do some extra research.

The poster after me answered it better. I doubt you will get a better answer than that.

Sweating.... ewww nasty gross?

I sweat so muchh... its so nasty.. I have pit stains allt he time even when i am not doin anything.. Its so bad at school and stuff and i want it to stop.. Is there any natural ways to make me stop sweating???

Sweating.... ewww nasty gross?
Do you wear deodorant?
Reply:http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-t...

check this out for a lot of info!
Reply:its either the deodorant or the shot, but if you put the shot, it would like numb your sweat glands and you would start sweating somewhere else. i doubt there's any natural ways. but, try to stay near the a/c :)
Reply:this happens to me 2! i even put the best deoderent on and it doesnt work. There isnt a natural way to stop sweating but you can make it go away when it comes. try and drink alot of fresh and cold water and it will make you much cool. go in cold air ( such as maby outside or any fans) hope i helped!
Reply:I dont know any Natural ways im sorry.. but i know that you may have over sweat glands. Like sort the ones of someones face. some people have oily faces because there pores put out to much oil. so that is the same thing with your pits. I know that you may want to see someone who can do something for you. And I think that there is a medication from the doctor that helps. My brother used to have your problem but he took this medecation but idont know the name so just ask someone like a doctor. Hope i helped! Sorry i couldnt get any nataral ways that just all i know.

xoxxoxox
Reply:Drink more water, where 100% cotton clothes, and use anti-perspirant deoderant.
Reply:I distinctly remember having this same problem. I tried every deodorant, every type, etc. None of them lasted me through the entire day. Being a guy, I just always wore an undershirt. This did not work 100% but combined w/ Degree or Mitchum mens deodorant, did the most for me. As you get older, the sweating will fade.

I also tended to stay out of the heat so at the slightest hint of heat, I would break out in sweat. If you don't already, spend more time outside in the heat to get your body better adjusted. Then when you are in mild heat, you will be less likely to sweat as much.
Reply:well ther are some people that have overly active sweat glandnds and maybe you should see your normal docter they can give you something for it and they can recomend some hearbal ones if you like to do it naturally. i hope ot turns out well
Reply:You may want to check with your doctor, but chances are this is part of your growing up. It's possible some diet changes could help or that there may be other remedies.

You can use anti-perspirants, but they are not particularly healthy if used to excess.

Don't worry. A lot of other kids have the same problem, and you'll all likely outgrow it. This is something you can discuss with your friends, especially other girls. Making sure you drink enough water could help your body cool more efficiently, which could help the perspiration.
Reply:i dont know about natural ways. get a better deodorant or go to the doctors and tell them youre problem he might be able to prescibe you something.
Reply:uhm, deoderent i guess?
Reply:natural? i haven't heard of any. I would recommend Certain Dry its an antiperspirant you put in on before bed and then use deodorant in the morning and you won't sweat. It works for me. You can get it almost anywhere

Hope this helps!
Reply:hmm... its coz of ur apocrine gland that secrete out its secretion... it contain fatty acid and protein, etc... it may have a milky or yellowish color. it suppose to be odorless. but when bacteria that live on skin uses it protein and fats as a source of nutrients for their growth, it takes on a musky unpleasant odor.

you might wanna use anti-bacterial lotion at that affected area...that way it wont smell...
Reply:well there is ONE solution that MIGHT work, but uh iuno if you would wanna do it... it's acupuncture which is putting needles in the head so yeah, not sure if you wanna go through all that just to sweat less. other than that i don't think there's any other way. i have the same problem. i just make sure to stay hydrated %26amp; do activities indoors with ac during the hot days of summer like the movies, mall, friends house. also make sure you put on deoderant before you go out to prevent those sweat stains.
Reply:Perscription strength antiperspirant. Put baking soda on your armpits. Wear breatheable fabrics. Have a bottle of cold water with you. Buy sheilds for your armpits at dresshields.com so it wont go through your shirts. And dont think about it, that also helps too. But if you're a teenager, this is probably only temporary.
Reply:Use anti-perspirant to stop underarm sweating. Otherwise it's better to go ahead and sweat. It's your bodies natural cooling system and would be harmful if you just turned it off.

Regular aerobic exercise (running, biking, etc...) could condition your body to not become overheated while just sitting, and if you're overweight, weight loss could help too. Sorry, but there's no easy way to stop sweating safely. Anyway, it's not so gross (except under the arms, that stinks). All sweat is just salt water, like people love to swim in at the beach.
Reply:I know you're tired of people tellin you to just wear deoderant or antipersprants like Secret or something. OBVIOUSLY that isn't working. I think you have hyperhydrosis. You say you sweat even when you're not doing anything, that's definitely a symptom. You can google it and see that there are so many people who have this same problem, so you are not alone. But the solution to your problem is simple. Use an antipersprant called B-Drier. It is the highest level antipersprant you can get without a perscription and is made especially for people w/ hyperhydrosis. It sells at Walgreens for about $7. And works not only for the sweating but also for your self confidence.
Reply:There is a product available by prescription for people with excessive sweating/hyperhidrosis. It's called "Drysol." It's not a natural way, but it may help. It's something you use for awhile to get your sweating under control and then gradually use less and less.
Reply:Men's deodorant Mitchum Unscented Solid.

Sweating Problems (Please Help!!!!!)?

I have a serious arpit sweat/funk problem. I can't find the right treatment! I shower every morning with lever200, Irish Spring or another soap like that, but in less than an hour of showering, I am sweating. And it stinks! Like, it comes out smelly already! I am not even doing anything. I will be sitting in class, just haning out. I think I have hyperhydrosis, but it has to be one of the worst cases ever! I try different things, but they work for either a day or two and then stop! And I am a HAIRSTYLIST which means I have my arms up in the air all day long around other people! You just can't stink in my profession. Can someone please help?!? I have tried EVERY deodorant out there!

I've even tried men's deodorant, but they work even WORSE!

Sweating Problems (Please Help!!!!!)?
See a doctor. There are all kinds of treatments for sweating. I have even heard of botox injections at the sweat site. I have the same problem but fortunately, Certain Dry worked for me. If you were like me, it seemed that most deo and anti pers. made the sweating worse. The only way Certain dry worked was if I used it at night and then didn't put anything on in the morning. If I slipped and put regular deo and anti pers. on, it was all over because I would sweat all day long...whether it was hot or not and no way would I wear a sleeveless shirt! I still don't do that. Good luck!
Reply:I highly suggest you see your doctor
Reply:Ummm well i use Ban and it usually works pretty well...I would talk to your doctor. There is a treatment that you can get that involves injecting botox stuff into your armpits and i heard it works pretty well. Good Luck!
Reply:I had that probelm for a long time, my mom told me to rub lemons on my armpits. It worked!! Give it a try. i heard of a treatment where they kill the glands in your pits. i dont know if its true though.

give the lemon a try.
Reply:Yikes- before you try Botox injections, as someone suggested, get Drysol! Dysol used to be available only by prescription, buy you can get it online now. It is 20% aluminum chloride, which is the active ingredient in over the counter antiperspirants, but in a smaller dosage. Essentially it blocks your skin's sweat glands, so your armpits will stay bone dry. It stings sometimes, and isn't for everyday usage, but it REALLY works. Anywhere on your body. If Drysol is too strong, you can get Maxim, which has a smaller amount of aluminum chloride, and is available in a roll on. That's what I use, about twice a week. In the meantime I just use regular drugstore deodorant. Switch it up, that sometimes helps. I can't recomend these products enough- try it!

I am sweating too too much always?
Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had the ETS surgery done, it's

very expensive.

I had hyperhidrosis (and a few other symptoms) for many years and went through all the usual treatments.

Anticholinergic drugs, applying topical solutions, botox, and ETS surgery. The surgery was most helpful but

several years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

Years later I was diagnosed with celiac disease, along with a few food allergies. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and

sugar from my diet and stopped all prescriptions. I began taking supplements:

- Vitamin B complex

Contains 50mg of every B vitamin plus Folic Acid

- Mineral complex

Contains Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc, etc.

You can see the rest of my story here:

(This is not the cause of hyperhidrosis but caused my food allergies and mineral/vitamin malabsorption)

Reply:There is little you can do. I know someone who had sweat glands removed from their armpits, which helped. It is a drastic solution, and very painful too.
Reply:go to the doc there is a solution, its a syndrom with your pores or w.e someone i know has it on their hands
Reply:you might need to use a certain kind of deodorant. Or just go to a doctor and ask them.
Reply:just try and drink more fluids as in water
Reply:Its heart and chlorestrol problem. Don't believe go for a checkup.
Reply:Dont worry

I have the same problem

Only thing you can do is go to your doctor and they will tell you to get a deodorant from the chemist
Reply:there is a simple operation for people who sweat excessively. my suggestion is that you talk to your doctor about this. i had a friend who had the same problem and it was fixed with an operation.
Reply:You need to have your sugar check, this could be a sign of diabetes or you may have an infection of some type. And keep in mind it could be nothing serious. But you need to see your Dr.
Reply:i have the same problem, i tried everything but nothing worked until someone told me about driclor you can get it from the chemist for about 6 pound. it has worked wonders, but please read the directions before using because it can irritate
Reply:You could have overactive glands.

It could also be from being overweight (not just at little, I´m talking at least 20kg).

Make sure you drink lots of water, dress lightly, and don´t wear clothes made from artifical fibers, like polyester.

It could also be from your diet, eating lots of fast food, or processed foods is bad for you and can make you sweat. Also drinking lots of caffinated drinks (coffee, black tea, cola, Dr Pepper, etc) or alcoholic drinks have been linked to excessive sweating.

You could try doing a detox diet for at least 1 week, this will cleanse your body of toxins and could help.

However, if you are worried, talk to your doctor.

Sweating Bug Juice ???

I'm famous for saying this, and I know many others who say it.. but I'm wondering where on earth this came from??? I say it when I'm at work and I sweat.."Man, I'm sweating bug juice!!"

Where did this phrase come from?? :)

Sweating Bug Juice ???
There used to be a show on the Disney Channel called "Bug Juice." I was about kids at camp. Maybe you watched it and saw them sweating while they were hiking, playing, etc, and you adapted the phrase. :)

Sweating helps cool a body?

a) What change of state does sweating involve?

b) Why does sweating cause cooling?

Sweating helps cool a body?
I object to doing biology homework :P

a) Liquid to gas (evaporation)

b) Evaporation is an endothermic reaction, removing heat from the body to evaporate the sweat into water vapour.
Reply:im not sure why sweat causes cooling but i do know that sweating a lot causes you to loose weight

Excessive sweating?

For the past few days I have been sweating really bad and it's awful! It's not like it's hot outside or anything, actually its really cold! I thought maybe it's my deoderant, but I changed that and nothing happened.

Any help??? Thanks

Excessive sweating?
Try degree!
Reply:You may have to use a perscription deodorant if the OTC (over the counter) deodorants do not work.

Talk to a doctor to make sure it's not the wrong deodorant.
Reply:Excessive sweating can be caused by certain hormone imbalances, but sometimes, we just sweat a lot for no apparent reason. Secret makes a clinical strength deodorant. It's designed for excessive sweating.
Reply:You dont sya how old you are-thyroid problems and sweating go hand in hand. You could also have a fever-take your temp. It would be a good idea to get this checked out by a Dr. If your older and around menipause time, that will do it too.

How can I stop excessive sweating?

It's disgusting. I'm 15 and I have a major sweating problem. It just started this month but I already want it gone! It's extremely embarrassing. I can sit in class, but I won't be able to raise my hand because I get sweat stains.

I'm sort of a girly girl and I just got into my first sport, tennis. It just started to get hot (humid, really, i live in houston) on the tennis courts and it seems like I can't stand it anymore. I get so tired that I have to pause, setting my tennis racket down for support while i lean over and let the sweat drip from my face.

No one else seems to sweat like this. I'm not even super overweight--I'm 137 pounds (yeah, a little heavy for the height of 5'3", but I'm not worried about that right now. I look fine in my eyes and I JUST gained weight after a very starved summer).

I guess I have arms muscles and everything. My arms aren't even flabby, though. I don't understand how a human being could sweat this much.

please help.

How can I stop excessive sweating?
hey... im a guy and im in college now and i totally feel your pain. if its underarm sweating, try Mitchum deodorant, its for men (and they have a women's line too). that works VERY well for some people, but didnt really work for me... (but keep reading, ill tell you what i did as I got more despearte) you also have to realize you are going through puberty, and its completely natural. try drinking more water as well, to the point that your urine is clear. (dont overdo it obviously) also, what i did during the winter that helped was put paper towels under my arms. for a girl it might be more difficult due to the nature of clothing you wear. ask your parents to maybe get you this other solution, called "dryosol" - you can easily order it through the internet and it comes from canada. DONT BE WORRIED ABOUT DISGUSSING THIS WITH YOUR PARENTS - they will only help. there is nothing embarassing about this. your insurance also covers visits to dermatologists, so if your parents know they can hook you up with a doctors visit and it wont really cost anything.

girl, youll be fine. its a part of growing up. im in college and i wish i didnt let my sweating bother me so much in highschool... think about it this way, if you are going through this, adn i have gone through this, chances are that many of your classmates are also going through it.

obviously im not a doctor, but i hope it helps
Reply:Your body will eventually get used to the heat and stop producing as much sweat. My guess is you shocked your body with the high temperatures, so it overreacted and started trying to cool itself off by sweating too much. Just keep staying out in the heat until you get used to it. And stay hydrated!
Reply:keep a bottle ofwater near you so once u feel excess sweat pour it on yourself .shower well before a workout .
Reply:rinse with some alum dissolved in water... it's really uncomfortable and i dont think it's good to your skin but it works.
Reply:DEODORANT-------OR-------ANTI-PERSPIRENT :)
Reply:i have the same problem too...no worries. after you shower, be sure to rinse in COLD water [your entire body] it closes your pores. and also, try secret clinical strength [wear before bed + during day]. if that doesn't work, TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. but also, steer clear of polyester/cotton blend tees [i noticed those cause me to sweat the most]. good luck ;]
Reply:You need to see a doctor and have your thyroid checked. Excessive perspiration may be a symptom of a physical problem.

There are treatments for the condition if it is found to be unrelated to another medical problem. I believe they use botox injections to the armpits to help control the problem if it is not related to another disease. Your doctor will be able to give you the best advice on this issue.
Reply:Sweating is a good thing....it keeps you cool and prevents you from basically "cooking". You said you live in Houston (it's very humid there) which maybe why you're experiencing this. I sweat easily as well. I've read that people who sweat easily tend to be in better shape (usually) since the body is used to physical activity and releases sweat because it anticipates future physical activity. There are prescription anti-perspirants you can get from your doc if you're really concerned. Good Luck.
Reply:Your body sweats because it is not yet used to exercise. Your body is overcompensating. Things will get better when you get used to that level of activity.

Keep up the exercise.

Wear 100% cotton shirts.

And to hell with what anyone thinks of you.

No boy worth having will mind a girl who sweats.
Reply:Hey, there well what you can do is put baby powder on the area's on your body that perspires alot more then others.. (Underarms, under breasts, back, stomach etc..) You get me I am sure. The baby powder will absorb, the wettness %26amp; will help with any odor as well. In the mean time you have to consider your age.. you are still a teenager.. %26amp; that means that your hormones are really at work right now. I say give youurself a few more years %26amp; the sweating, just may decrease. If it really bothers you , you can speak to a physician in regards to your concerns %26amp; he/she may be able to give you some suggestions... good luck!

Excessive sweating on my back and chest, what to do!?

im a 18 year old male, i have always had a problem with excessive sweating all over my body, about a year ago i went for a hyperhydrosis operation where they cut the nerves for my sweat gland leading to my arms and hands, but now sice they have done that it has increased the amount of sweat coming out my back and chest dramatically!! i have tried soaps and anti persperants, nothing works! i wear a vest under my shirt to try soak it up but it still comes through. please dont tell me i just have to be happy with myself etc etc...it just doesn't work for me, any ideas/tips on how to cure it? or even a way to try and hide it like using specific materials etc...kinda desperate here!!

Excessive sweating on my back and chest, what to do!?
Your condition is fairly common in the scenario of Hyperhidrosis Surgery. A certain percentage of patients will experience compensatory sweating after their ETS (Endoscopic Sympathectomy Surgery).

Getting another procedure is certainly not the answer. At this point, it is safest to try natural methods to stop sweating. The site in my signature provides natural hyperhidrosis remedies. Your answer may be there.

Only a small percentage of ETS patients experience post surgery compensatory sweating. It's really the luck of the draw.

As I said, with this scenario, natural treatments are the best route to take.

Excessive sweating problem?

ive been experiencing excessive sweating for a while.

it's not puberty, i'll tell you that.

my hands, feet, and especially armpits sweat like crazy!

it's so embarrasing in school.

people have commented about my sweat rings on my shirts, and i don't know what to do anymore.

when someone wants a high-five, they're all, "Why are you hands wet?"

please don't suggest any types of deoderant, or anything over the counter. it doesn't work, i've tried them all.

and i'm not willing to do surgery.

my doctor says she can't do anything about it, is this true?

but i've heard something about botox injections, could i have a little more info about this?

thanks! :)

Excessive sweating problem?
Presumably you have only tried external deodorants. When you perspire the deodorants are simply pushed away and they don't last long.

You need an internal deodorant that deodorises your perspiration before it comes out of your pores and a table spoon of high strength liquid chlorophyll every day will do exactly that.

Liquid chlorophyll also has a cooling effect so you will perspire a bit less.
Reply:I know exactly what you are going through.

it sucks, I know.

I have sweaty armpits..

I have thought about surgery and botox iinjections,

I have reaserched a lot. They say if you get the surgery, some side affects are that you'll start to sweet in your abdomine area, but not for all people.

%26amp; the botox injections may not last.

but that is just what I have heard.

good luck! :D

i hope you get your problem fixed,

just remember, your not the only one :]
Reply:You have hyperhidrosis. It's a medical condition that occurs as a result of hyperactive sweat glands.

There are many many treatments available so don't get down about it. Botox is very expensive and not permanent, it should be your second to last resort. The last resort of course is surgery (a procedure called Endoscopic Thorasic Surgery)

Try the following first:

1. Buy a deodorant high in Aluminum Chloride. This is the deodorant the blocks the sweat.

2. Try Drysol. This is a prescription deodorant that prevents sweating.

3. Try shoe inserts to control foot odor.

4. Try Vinegar foot baths to lessen foot sweating

5. Drink more water. Sounds silly but by doing so you'll lower your body temperature and lessen your sweating.

6. Wear loose clothing.

7. Use an antibacterial soap to dry your skin.

8. Iontophoresis. This is a treatment applied at treatment centers for hand and foot sweating.

9. Avoid spicy foods

10. Use a power after you shower like Goldbond.

Armpit sweating?

i have a friend who sweat her armpit soo much..how can she prevent sweating her armpit too much.. her armpit sweat like A PIG.. even though shes not doing anything.. she told me she use deodorant but it still doesnt work and she gets smell bad.. how can she prevent that.. its like she tried everything..

Armpit sweating?
She should wash regulary. At least everyday and when applying deodrant make sure she leaves it to dry first and then put her top on. Also change tops often so the smell isnt bad.
Reply:i think she doesnt shave/wax her armpit hair. it will be very difficult for u to say that to ur friend
Reply:Even if you do shave/wax/pluck, it still happens.

Get a good spray on deodorant by Rexona (spelling?). Preferably a sport one.

And use that daily. And a refreshener.

Not a roll on one.

Also, just washing the under arms in the morning and before she goes to bed is also good too.

Or it could be a hormonal imbalance, so if she feels the need to consider seeing a doctor. Go ahead.

(=
Reply:well.. when i was 11... my armpit was too smelly... Now, itz not... Tell her to use deodorant instead and even wax her armpit too. I know itz too difficult to say but go for it.. give it a try!!Tell her that her armpit smells too much... If u r her/his real frnd.
Reply:I got this product from the chemist called DRICLOR. You wash your under arms at night and dry them, then apply the product, it tingles a bit, in the morning you wash it off and use your normal deodorant, this completely stopped me sweating and I used to sweat a lot. I only need to use this once a week and I never sweat from my under arms any more.

Worried about excessive sweating on wedding day?

I have hyperhidrosis (I even sweat when I'm freezing...been embarrassing since highschool) and have tried EVERYTHING but surgery or Botox. (Putting this on Yahoo Answers is a last resort before talking to a doctor) My wedding day is this June, and I am worried about sweating. I've heard about Botox, but the only thing that worries me about having that injection is secondary sweating. Will I start to sweat more in other places (hands, feet...)?? (Getting really tired of wearing black all the time!!) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Worried about excessive sweating on wedding day?
Try the Secret Clinical Strength deodorant. You just put it on every night after a shower and it is amazing! In the morning just use whatever deodorant you normally use but you wont sweat at all! I use to have the same problem but not anymore! This stuff is amazing, I take a shower at night and put it on, then in the morning use Dove deodorant and I haven't had any problems since. Its worth a try! Seriously it really works.
Reply:have you tried "drysol"? its a Rx anti-percipient and works wonders for me.
Reply:put pads under ur arms

Severe sweating help..?

I'm 16yrs old (male). I am always sweating. Even in cool conditions. It is really annoying and embarrassing. I've read about people taking out certain glands and that has helped. I don't wanna do that. What I was wondering, is that since I am sweating ALL OVER my body, maybe their is a lack of something I am getting, like a certain vitamin or something..idk. It is really annoying though. So I was wondering, what can I take, that will allow me to not sweat as much?

I can't remember which brand it was that just introduced what they claim to be a prescription strength antiperspirant and deoderant. Secret, maybe?
Reply:um... well, i have TEEN SPIRIT STICK, and it smells great. the scent i have is FRESH PICKED STRWABERRIES. i really suggest that brand. hope i helped, and good luck!!!

Not Sure What its Called, Ask a Doctor About Exssive Sweating.

GoodLuck!
Reply:Yes, you can get prescription strength stuff from an actual doctor. I tried that before but I didn't like it because it was weird and it said to put plastic wrap over your armpits after you apply it before bed, but I thought that was strange and hard to do. LOL. So I tried the stuff from Secret, which you can just buy at like Walgreens, Target, or whatever. It says prescription strength on it. I use to sweat a LOT too and I think it works great. It says its best to put it on the night before, which I do sometimes, but if I forget I just put it on in the morning.
Reply:i know this sounds weird but get a super thin pad and cut it to the shape of ur armpits then put some baby powder on them, stick the pad on ur armpit and ur good to go

plus u can change them in the bathroom

Honey I hope this can help you

People with excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) sweat profusely, and some sweat almost constantly. Although people with a fever or those exposed to very warm environments sweat, people with excessive sweating tend to sweat even without these circumstances. Excessive sweating may affect the entire surface of the skin, but often it is limited to the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits, or genital area.

Usually, no specific cause is found. However, medical disorders that can cause excessive sweating include hyperthyroidism, a low level of sugar in the blood, and, rarely, pheochromocytoma. An abnormality in the part of the nervous system that controls sweating can cause excessive sweating as well. Also, people with a spinal cord injury or disease may have episodes of excessive sweating. People with excessive sweating are frequently anxious about their condition. This anxiety often makes the sweating worse.

There are no oral remedies that produce significant benefit for excessive sweating. The most effective antiperspirant is based on a clear colourless alcoholic solution containing Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate. This is marketed under two different trade names: Driclor and Anhydrol Forte.

A doctor's prescription is not necessary and treatment is usually by overnight application to particularly troublesome areas, washing the application off in the morning. The initial daily treatment can be reduced in frequency to twice a week or less as the condition improves.

It is very important to follow the instructions carefully and you may need to continue treatment for several months.
Reply:at your age this is most likely a thing that will pass. unless your fat. if your about normal in weight and such then just get some antiperspirant and use that . the next time you have a see the doc about something else then ask about this as well . if this is too bad then take a change of shirt with you to school and some body spray .

again it is almost certainly something that will pass.

if other symptoms appear along with this then go to the doctor.

Good luck with it because i know what this condition can do for your self esteem. (i know what you think, how many girls want to hold hands with a sweaty guy?)

Any hoo, sincerely good luck.

How to solve sweating problem without anti-perspirant?

Acctually this is not a big problem, but rather embarassing. I have sweating problem that I easily perspire, and my sweat drenched all over my body. And because I live in hot and humid tropical country, I'm sweating for all the day long.

I have try anti-perspirant, but my skin is allergic to every anti-perspirant in the market. Any suggestion how to solve this sweating problem without using anti-perspirant?

How to solve sweating problem without anti-perspirant?
You can use a potato, rub it under your arms and you shouldn't be stinky anymore. If that doesn't work than who cares, if you live in a hot climate the people there are probably use to seeing someone sweat every now and again.
Reply:sweat isn't embarassing

bacteria in the sweat makes it smell
Reply:there's a certain medication that you can apply to your body that will decrease the prespiration, but it's a prescribed medication.

if you're like me, i get sweaty palms easily and have to use a medicine to stop the sweating.

stay away from hot environments, in which you feel uncomfortable. also, try not exercising so much to decrease sweat. just keep cool and fresh.
Reply:You can use powder, you should also choose your clothes properly.
Reply:I think there's something like an anti-sweat powder..
Reply:You sure you allergic to everything? Secret Platinum and Certain-Dri are really good. Also, I think you can go to a dermatalogist and they'll give you some injections or something to solve this problem.
Reply:use deoterant
Reply:I have the same problem I thought that I was allergic to all deodorants and especially all Secret types and the hypoallergenic brands didn't work but Degree ultra clear worked great and helped stop my sweating.
Reply:I think lemon juice works.. but I might be remembering incorrectly. Try it anyway, I mean.. it's natural.. nothing to lose

Chronic sweating...?

It seems like for the last year, every little thing that i do, i sweat. I can just be walking and start sweating, not in just certain spots...but all over, and its really noticeable on my face. Tonight for instance I was at a very formal meeting (suit and tie) and i was sweating like crazy for no reason...i was just sitting there. I ended up having to leave and they probably thought i was on drugs or something.

I work out regularly, about every other day(that includes weight lifting and cardio) and I take vitamin supplements everyday. So I'm fairly healthy..What's my deal? What can I do about it.

Chronic sweating...?
Hyperhidrosis can be caused by undiagnosed food intolerances or heavy metal poisoning. The two

are not unrelated.

I had severe hyperhidrosis along with arhhythmia, migraines and muscle twitching. I went through all the regular treatments including robinul, klonopin, drysol, and finally ETS surgery. After 2-3 years the hyperhidrosis and Raynaud's syndrome began to return.

My symptoms were caused by mercury toxicity from old fillings, which led to wheat and dairy intolerance (gluten and casein). After eliminating grains and dairy from my diet, the symptoms have gone away. I had all fillings replaced with composite material, and have been taking supplements for B vitamins, minerals (magnesium, zinc, etc.) and probiotics.

If you search, there are several sources which mention hyperhidrosis as a symptom of mercury poisoning. This can be related to wheat and dairy intolerance because mercury inhibits DPP-IV, the main enzyme needed to digest these foods.

Heavy metals don't show up on regular tests until it is provoked out of the body with a chelating agent. I wasted money on one blood test before finding another doctor who did a urine test properly.

Does sweating more help yout lose more weight?

i heard on a tv show that sweating more helps weight loss production is this true or not and if not then what will help while exerciseing

Does sweating more help yout lose more weight?
not really, u only lose water weight, but u gain it back after hydrating ureself again!
Reply:If you sweat, you only lose wieght because you have lost water, but then you have to drink again as your dehydrated.

You are supposed to lose other wieght which is the contents of fat you have. That is why being fat is unhealthy, because there is too much 'fat' on you.

You have to go on a diet and exersise.

Dehydration is extremily dangerous, particullarly when your hot, it could be deadly.
Reply:Sweating lots of water helps in two ways. Firstly it helps your body rid itself of toxins, and of course the liquid you lose will be regained when you drink more water.

Secondly, the food and fat that were used to create the sweat will not go back into your body, so you’ll lose weight - and fast!
Reply:Yes, but make sure to rehydrate well after--- otherwise you will dehydrate, which causes the body to hold onto the little water it has for dear life!
Reply:I don't know if it's true or not, but here are some tips when exercising:

1. if running, breathe through nose and out through mouth. if you can't do that properly, then you are running too fast! Find your own pace and you can increase it when you get better.

2. Exercise enough, but don't over exercise! (I've seen someone do the BEEP test on fit days and over ran it and didn't stop. He either fainted or threw up.

3. DRINK LOTS OF WATER WHEN EXERCISING!!!

Need help with sweating?

well my situation is kind of weird. I wake up the morning at 6:00 to go to school and the second i get into class i realize that ive sweated so much under my arms. I really never know that im sweating because i can't feel it until one of my friends point it out. Then throughout the whole school day I sweat a lot but it doesn't smell at all. Then the second i get home and throughout the whole day im at home, i dont sweat at all and i dont understand it. Does anyone know what it could be and how i can treat it. I've just started having this problem a few weeks ago.

Need help with sweating?
just make sure you wear deoderant and maybe not really tight clothes. also make sure your wearign breathable material, you know? like cotton..things like that cuz even if you dont know it..your body may be over heating. Also maybe when your sitting keep your arms away from your body, i dont mean up in the air hah but like..on your desk so they can kinda air out.

hope this helps
Reply:did you recently change schools or are you in a new environment? or did somethign at school change? many times sweating can be a result of nervousness, anxiety, or it could just be temperature related. is it hotter at school than it is at home?

additionally, it could be hormonally induced, perhaps if you are going through puberty or have undergone some changes in your lifestyle.

there are many reasons as to why one sweats, but the underlying science is the same, where your body is trying to cool down your body temperature because it thinks that it is too high. hence, your blood vessels dilate, resulting in increased blood flow, which can result in sweating.

try using a good deodarant (ie. secret platinum works really well for me) and wearing loose clothing that doesn't make u too hot. don't worry too much or get too anxious if that's a factor.

hope that helps!
Reply:hey! i have that problem sometimes at school. i sweat profusely when i talk to a guy i like. is there a guy at school whom you have a crush on? ;) it also could be the airconditioning/heating system in your school mixing withthe humidity outside.also, do you shave there often? the more you shave, the less you sweat. if it is really a problem, i think some doctors can perscribe perscription anti-prespirant deoderant. i wouldnt worry about it. let your mom know about the problem and see what she says, and if youre concerned, ask her to take you to the doctor. I hope I helped!

Excess sweating of the face?

First off Im not overweight, 6ft 3 in and 180 pounds, but whenever I do anything, be it walking home from school or just standing around talking, I end up sweating! Its really bothering me, so I tried using a thin layer of clear michum deodorant on my forehead, but that didnt help. I asked my parents if we could go ask the doctor about it and they said that sweating releases toxins and Ill kill myself if I stop sweating. easy for them to say, they dont sewat whenever they try to live a life.

Any ideas for antiperspirants that can be used on the face that I could get on my own or what not?

thanks.

Excess sweating of the face?
No don't use anti-persperants on your face, it could be dangerous for your eyes.

Almost everyone sweats on their face, it's natural. However, there is a way to help. I use these a lot when I travel to hot countries.

You know those little towelletes you get you go to the restaurant which come in a small paper package?

You can buy a similar product at the drug store, 20 at a time and keep a few in your pocket. They have a human friendly kind of alcohol in them, the towelette wipes off your face and the alcohol keeps it from sweating for a fair amount of time.

However, I wouldn't be so self concious about it, everybodies face sweats the same as yours or even more so. It's one of those things the human subconsicous mind is geared not to notice. Like you see people chewing their food, your mind directs your eyes elsewhere, you can't help it, you have to make a concious effort to watch someone chew their food.

A sweating face and a dozen other things our minds are hardwired to filter out. There have been articles in Psychology Today and other professional Psychological studies on this kind of human behaviour. I'm sorry I can't think of one just off hand, but if you go to your local library, you'll be able to find something there or something through the reference librarian.

Reference librarians are just dying for people to ask them to find articles and resources, they are far better at finding things like that than the internet, yet most people aren't even aware of them.
Reply:I would look for some deodorant types of soap. that might help.
Reply:its just who u r. i have the same problem, and so does my dad.

we are both not overweight and we are in pretty good shape, but everytime we do nethin athletic, we sweat A LOT. i think it is probably genetic
Reply:Hyperhidrosis can be caused by food allergies, or a mineral/vitamin deficiency. I had it for a long time before learning this.

Check out this article about hyperhidrosis, grains, and sugars. Scroll about halfway down the page.

http://www.mercola.com/2004/aug/14/exces...

I had hyperhidrosis and other symptoms for many years. I tried all the usual treatments including ETS surgery, prescriptions, antiperspirants, botox, etc. The surgery was most helpful but several years later hyperhidrosis began to return.

This year I was diagnosed with food allergies due to celiac disease. I eliminated wheat, dairy, and sugar from my diet. I stopped all prescriptions and began taking supplements with B Vitamins, Folic Acid, magnesium and other minerals.

How to stop sweating excessively...?

one of my friends sweats excessively. even though she's skinny and in shape. She sweats even though she's not exercising. she sweats a lot even during class, especially in the underarms. what could be wrong with her? how can she stop sweating so much?

*please, no dumb answers*

How to stop sweating excessively...?
It's a condition, but I can't remember the name. She could go to a doctor, and they give her botox shots and it does something to the glands to help stop the sweating. That's what my cousin had to do because she use to sweat so much.
Reply:yeah i have excessive sweating problem too like when i go too college i get huge sweat marks and yes i am skinny and in shape its just a condition.. and theres like a book you can find on google that is all natural way too stop the sweating permanently.

Stupid sweating problem?!?

mmk. this is kinda embarressing for me, so don't make fun of me.

i sweat a lot. i wear deoderant and shower everyday. i've tried a ton of deoderant; ban, secret, secret clinical strength, dove, and even degree mens (cuz i heard it worked better). none of those seem to help.

this really effects my self esteem, and i normally keep my arms down tightly to my sides (people have even asked me why i look so stiff).

i really need a deoderant (preferably a nonscented one, because i tend to over-apply) that can stop me from sweating, or atleast decrease that amount that i sweat, for about 6-7 hours (school).

any suggestions?

Stupid sweating problem?!?
My cousin had the same problem, she use cornstarch powder but not using any deodorant. She shake on her hand then apply to underarms, repeat to another side then be sure to rinse in water or you get all whites all over your clothes. Carry 3oz. bottle in your purse and re-apply in the middle of the day. She never had sweating problem again. Try it!

Wish you good luck!
Reply:Not a stupid question at all! I have the same problem. It is diagnosed as hyperhydrosis. You may want to reaserch this a bit. For now try certain-dry or maxim deodorant (found online) It has pretty much worked for me for underarms. I am still trying to work out the sweaty hands situation. Botox injections are an option. Best of luck to you.
Reply:You might want to try an Anti Perspirant rather than a deodorant. You can use powder or corn starch under your arms which should help keep them dry. Maybe keeping your arms tucked in to your sides are causing you to sweat more from being nervous about sweating.

See a dermatologist, I'm sure they can help you.
Reply:I have been sweating a lot all my life and have never found a deodorant or antipersperant that keeps the underarms dry.

In the summer when it is hot my whole body sweats and it looks like I ran through a shower with my clothes on .

I have read in health magazines that you shouldn't use the stuff that stops you from sweating because the sweat is getting toxins out of your body.

My best suggestions would be to wear light colored tops that don't show wettness like white, or colors that have multicolors or a lot of activity, like swirls, stripes, etc that will tend to camoflage the sweat marks.

Also shaving the hair under your arms will cut down on the smell as well as using deodorant.

How to stop sweating?

I hate it! I always sweat when I'm around people. I try to calm myself down by breathing deeply but that doesn't work either. I sweat when it's not even hot. I was in the waiting room to get a check up and overheard someone saying it was freezing! I sweat mostly in the facial area the forehead. I think it's part of anxiety? How can I stop sweating???

How to stop sweating?
It is called hypohidrosis. While you may feel you sweat in stressful situations, you may notice you sweat at times for no reason at all! It is actually very common. To be honest, I have it and have tried reducing my anxiety which didn't really help.

You can try all kinds of deodorants too, but they aren't made for the amount of sweat that someone with hypohidrosis has. You can also get surgical treatment, but it doesn't work for everyone and it is expensive.

Here is what WORKED for me. Go to a dermatologist that has botox. Make sure you call ahead and find one that has done this procedure before. The dermatologist can make injections under your arms to paralyze the sweat glands. It is a miracle. For 6 months, you will not even sweat a drop. Unfortunately, I have had to have it done several times. It isn't too painful because the doctor injects just under the top layer of skin with a very small needle. However, it can be about 25-30 injections. Trust me-- it is worth it if this is important enough to you. I use numbing cream before too. They use powder and iodine to make your sweat turn purple so they can see where you sweat the worst. You can have other areas done too. I was the first patient in my state to have it done about 6 years ago and now it is so common that the dermatologists have special kits for it.

Good luck, I hope this helps you!

I attached a website below that describes it. Your insurance may cover it as mine does.
Reply:I suffer from panic attacks sweating is a common symptom. beta blockers can help but are not the answer!!

Panic attacks are very common

They consist of a sudden onset of INTENSE APPREHENSION, fear or terror accompanied by PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS such as:

Difficulty breathing;

Dizziness;

Palpitations;

Chest pains;

Tingling sensations;

Shaking;

Sweating;

Visual problems;

Feelings of unreality;

Wobbly, shaky legs.

The thoughts that accompany these symptoms are often negative and scary e.g: "I'm going to loose control", "I'm going mad", "I'm having a heart attack".

These thoughts are misinterpretations of the physical symptoms. These thoughts increase the anxiety symptoms and an upwardly spiralling vicious circle of thoughts and physical symptoms is created.

When we experience this fear, physical and worrying thoughts our natural reaction is to escape. This avoidance brings temporary relief, but increases the likelihood of further apprehension, negative thoughts, bodily symptoms and the development of a phobic reaction.

That is the definition of a Panic Attack if this is you then the answer is yes and you should see a doctor asap.

Does sweating means burning fat?

I live in a very cold place now and sweating is very unlikely to happen. Even if I do exercises indoor, I don't sweat either. I afraid this might get unhealthy. So I was wonder if this is the logic , "the more you sweat , the more fat you burn"?

Does sweating means burning fat?
Don't OD if you're not sweating!

Sweating is the body's response to overheating, letting extra water and stuff out through the skin to cool it. If you're already in a cold place, you're body won't need to sweat.

A good way to make sure you're burning fat, try and keep track of your heart rate and keep it between 55% and 85% of your maximum rate (220 minus your age equals your max heart rate). Below that and you won't be burning fat, above that and your body will just burn sugar to keep up.

A less accurate but pretty reliable way to keep track if you don't want to constantly check your pulse is to speak/sing. If you can sing while working out, you're not working hard enough. If you can't speak in full sentences, you're going to hard.

Don't lose hope if you're not sweating! You've already took a big step by exercising in the first place, one that many loathe to even take. Good luck!
Reply:you burn calories when you sweat
Reply:Sweating is your bodys natral way to cool your skin and body off.
Reply:that's not it. I can do a workout without sweating, but it still helps me to get better in shape. That is not true logic. Sweating is to a) help cool you down, and b) to an extent get rid of wastes, but not as much as a)
Reply:Although sweating often accompanies excercise, sweat is water, not fat. Just because you're sweating doesn't mean that you're burning fat, and just because you're not sweating doesn't mean that you're not burning fat. Don't worry too much about it.
Reply:I'm sorry to tell you this but if sweating meant fat burning i would be skin and bones. I can't do anything without get soaking wet with sweat and i don't loose weight. it has to do with how much liquids you drink.
Reply:Sweat is made out of water. Fat is something different, but there can be a correlation.
Reply:Sometimes...but sometimes the more you sweat the more muscle you're building. I grew up in northern wisconsin and ran cross country even in January...you can sweat...and if you don't sweat, you should see a doctor...it's very unusual even if it's 0 degrees outside if you're really working hard and not sweating. I used to wear sweats, turtlenecks, and things like that while running...and I ALWAYS sweated.

Good luck!
Reply:No...the sweat is to cool your body off...But if you're sweating during aerobics then that's a good indicator that you're burning fat.

But don't think you can sit in a hot room with 3 sweaters on and lose weight.
Reply:yes
Reply:no, sweating is because your body is hot and it's a means to cool it off by causing the water to rise out of the skin so the skin can be cooled and eventually cool the body. if you worked out in summer and sweat alot and worked out the same in the winter, if you did the same exercise both times does that mean you burned more fat in the summer??? no.
Reply:Sweating is how the body cools itself. When you sweat, you lose water weight. People often sweat during exercise when they're burning fat, but one is not dependent on the other.
Reply:sweating is just the body's attempt to keep cool so it does not overheat. Which is what happens when you work out...the additional oxygen you breath in helps to burn the calories in the food energy that you have taken in. This continues on after you have stopped exercising and after the food energy has been used up as the body looks for another source (and fat stores is another source) just not as easy to get to quickly for immediate energy. Compare it to a campfire with starter twigs(sugar and starch) and the heavy logs(fats). Sort of similiar.
Reply:Sweating does not necessarily mean that you are burning fat.Sometimes when sweating, you might be losing water to keep your body cool.

Don't worry, you can still exercise indoors everyday.Eat vegetables, fruits and drink plenty of water to stay healthy...without exercising.Of course,if you do both of them,it would be better.

Before you run to Botox (an expensive remedy I have to add) make sure you're already doing the following:

1. Use a deodorant high in Aluminum Chloride. This is the ingredient that blocks sweat from escaping the pores.

2. Use a tannin tea solution. Soak your feet in this tea solution to lessen foot sweating.

3. Drink more water to lower your body temperature.

4. Try Drysol - a prescription deodorant.

5. Use a powder like baby power or Goldbond after showering.
Reply:yea botox injections work

a bartender on dr.90210 was getting them and it stops sweating for i think 6 weeks or monthes im not sure

hope i helped

:]]
Reply:u do not want to do botox, injecting anything that enhances ur looks inot ur skin is bad news my frnd. i'm sorry but i'm afriad thats all i know, hope this helped =D
Reply:Botox temporarily makes the muscles around the area of injection paralyzed. It will temporarily stop the sweating, but it will be very uncomfortable and there are places they won't to it because, as I said, it paralyzes your muscles.

But think of this: Botox is made from the same bacteria that causes botulism. And botulism is a serious paralytic illness caused by a nerve toxin.

Did you get the nerve toxin part?
Reply:your doctor has to be lying to you. my friend went through the exact thing! he gave her these patch things i think it was a free trial too. anyways, she stuck them on her armpits and presto! she stopped sweating and swelling. Her doctor also suggested the injections too, but she never got them.
Reply:Elektra is right, your doc has to be lying! My friend had the same problem and the pharmacist actually gave her pills, you must take them everyday(I think its once a day)and you'll see the results after like 2weeks,maybe its slow but it sure does work!
