Does sweating means burning fat?

I live in a very cold place now and sweating is very unlikely to happen. Even if I do exercises indoor, I don't sweat either. I afraid this might get unhealthy. So I was wonder if this is the logic , "the more you sweat , the more fat you burn"?

Does sweating means burning fat?
Don't OD if you're not sweating!

Sweating is the body's response to overheating, letting extra water and stuff out through the skin to cool it. If you're already in a cold place, you're body won't need to sweat.

A good way to make sure you're burning fat, try and keep track of your heart rate and keep it between 55% and 85% of your maximum rate (220 minus your age equals your max heart rate). Below that and you won't be burning fat, above that and your body will just burn sugar to keep up.

A less accurate but pretty reliable way to keep track if you don't want to constantly check your pulse is to speak/sing. If you can sing while working out, you're not working hard enough. If you can't speak in full sentences, you're going to hard.

Don't lose hope if you're not sweating! You've already took a big step by exercising in the first place, one that many loathe to even take. Good luck!
Reply:you burn calories when you sweat
Reply:Sweating is your bodys natral way to cool your skin and body off.
Reply:that's not it. I can do a workout without sweating, but it still helps me to get better in shape. That is not true logic. Sweating is to a) help cool you down, and b) to an extent get rid of wastes, but not as much as a)
Reply:Although sweating often accompanies excercise, sweat is water, not fat. Just because you're sweating doesn't mean that you're burning fat, and just because you're not sweating doesn't mean that you're not burning fat. Don't worry too much about it.
Reply:I'm sorry to tell you this but if sweating meant fat burning i would be skin and bones. I can't do anything without get soaking wet with sweat and i don't loose weight. it has to do with how much liquids you drink.
Reply:Sweat is made out of water. Fat is something different, but there can be a correlation.
Reply:Sometimes...but sometimes the more you sweat the more muscle you're building. I grew up in northern wisconsin and ran cross country even in January...you can sweat...and if you don't sweat, you should see a doctor...it's very unusual even if it's 0 degrees outside if you're really working hard and not sweating. I used to wear sweats, turtlenecks, and things like that while running...and I ALWAYS sweated.

Good luck!
Reply:No...the sweat is to cool your body off...But if you're sweating during aerobics then that's a good indicator that you're burning fat.

But don't think you can sit in a hot room with 3 sweaters on and lose weight.
Reply:yes
Reply:no, sweating is because your body is hot and it's a means to cool it off by causing the water to rise out of the skin so the skin can be cooled and eventually cool the body. if you worked out in summer and sweat alot and worked out the same in the winter, if you did the same exercise both times does that mean you burned more fat in the summer??? no.
Reply:Sweating is how the body cools itself. When you sweat, you lose water weight. People often sweat during exercise when they're burning fat, but one is not dependent on the other.
Reply:sweating is just the body's attempt to keep cool so it does not overheat. Which is what happens when you work out...the additional oxygen you breath in helps to burn the calories in the food energy that you have taken in. This continues on after you have stopped exercising and after the food energy has been used up as the body looks for another source (and fat stores is another source) just not as easy to get to quickly for immediate energy. Compare it to a campfire with starter twigs(sugar and starch) and the heavy logs(fats). Sort of similiar.
Reply:Sweating does not necessarily mean that you are burning fat.Sometimes when sweating, you might be losing water to keep your body cool.

Don't worry, you can still exercise indoors everyday.Eat vegetables, fruits and drink plenty of water to stay healthy...without exercising.Of course,if you do both of them,it would be better.
