Sweating Only 16.?

Okay.. So I have this problem I'm 16 years old, a girl, 5'3.5 100lbs. and I have a sweating problem! and I can't seem to get it to go away and with winter coming up where I can't where tank tops or camis anymore it's going to be a bigger issue! I sweat alot. I don't know what to do. Even when I'm not hot or anything, I'll just be sitting in the car, or on the sofa or whatever not doing much of anything.. and I sweat through my shirt (underarms!) I don't know what the deal is and it's been going on for about 2 years now and just is getting worse! Any deotants I can try?? I already have tried a number of secrets products, mitchum, dove and several others. Please help its embrassing. And I don't want to go through another winter or sweating when it's not even hot!

Sweating Only 16.?
OMGosh! I am 16 too and I have the same problem. It started @ 14 for me. I have this condition called Hyperhidrosis and that may be what you have (you can google it for more information). You can also go on WebMD.com too for more information. There are plenty of things to try! I agree with the person above me- the first thing you should try is Certain Dri. It is about 6 dollars at any drugstore, it isn't like a regular anti-perspirant, you put it on at night. It may sting just alittle bit but it is really nothing. Make sure you buy the Certain Dri box with the green trimming, not the blue trimming (you will know what I'm talking about when you go to the drugstore). The green one is the anti-perspirant. The blue one is a deodorant that makes you smell good. They work really well! If that doesn't work, you can try Maxim or Secret Clinical Strength. They didn't work 4 me but they may work 4 you. Secret is bought at the drug store too, but you have to order Maxim online. If none of those things work, I think you should talk to your dermatologist. They give you these pills to take and they work better than any antiperspirant (I have tried all of these things). That should take care of the problem! After treatments like these even if your sweating doesn't go away, it will still be reduced by a lot. There is also Botox you can get, you can talk to the doctor about that. But I know how you feel, I have been there, and I'm so sorry you are going through this! I hope this answer helps and I hope everything works out 4 you! =)
Reply:yeah, the same thing is happening to me and its been going on for 2 year too, but i am only 14, i have tried secret clinical but it doesn't work well at all!!!
Reply:I know what you are going through, I have the same problem. I would even sweat when it was winter, which I thought it was insane. Sometimes it could be that you are nervous without even releasing it, so try not to think about your underarms that much and see if that helps. Plus it's a normal stage where teens go through.

I use Certain Dri, you can buy it on your nearest drug store. Apply when you are going to bed, and make sure you don't apply after taking a shower or shaving. It can create itchy sensation and rashes.
Reply:its part of growing up and going through puberty

im only 14 and its the same for me too

youll get through it lol
Reply:oo my gosh.. same thing happened here... the BEST product to use is certain dri.................it is AMAZING.... I have been using it for the past 3 months and i havent sweated AT ALL!!!! I use to wear sweatshirts in the summer.. and now i wear normal short sleeve shirts and i dont sweat at all!!!! If u want to stop the sweating use certain dri... it almost stops ur sweat instantly!!! Just trust me on this and try it... u can buy it all wal-mart.... it should be at the top of all the deodrants!! It's like 5 or 6 dollars but its the best 5 or 6 dollars u will ever spend... and u will be glad u did!

Sweating question...?

so somebody told me once that if your sitting around or something and your sweating because its hot is not the same kind of sweat when your working out and moving around... is that true? and if it is then why? and also, if you were to wear sweatpants and a sweat shirt while your working out to make you sweat more will that burn more calories?

Sweating question...?
You sweat because you body is trying to shed excess heat. It doesn;t matter if you are sitting or not.

Sweating does not burn calories per say. You will see a weight loss after heavy sweating due to water loss, which you will need to drink back in. The Ice cold water that you drink does burn a few calories.
Reply:good question and i don't think it makes that much of a difference because you have the chance of getting over heated faster in the sweat suite. but let me know when you find out
Reply:Sweating while sitting down vs. Sweating while working out

- In both cases, sweating is your body's way of cooling down because its core is getting hotter than it's normal body temperature.

It's not the same as when you work out though. The sweat when working out is caused by your increased heart rates..which then results in your body temperature going up.

When sitting down in hot weather..your heart rate is not increasing much, you're only sweating because it's hot out.

You're burning more calories when doing work...not sitting around, so it's a lot different.

If you were to wear sweatpants/shirt...you would burn more calories. Think about wrestlers trying to lose weight. The extra clothing will make your body generate heat. Generating heat takes energy/calories to do. So the increased heart rate from cardio and the added clothing will result in more calories burned.
Reply:No, I think sweat is sweat. When your body temp starts to rise, regardless of cause (exercise, fever, sun, etc.), I think sweat happens to cool you down. You might burn a few more calories if you wear heavy clothes. Your body has to use energy (burn calories) for thermoregulation; so if your temp gets a bit too low or too high for any reason, you will be using more energy than you would if you were resting comfortably at room temperature (backing off the climate control will produce similar results). I doubt it would be really significant, though.

Sweating problems?

heyy... im 14 and i

have a super bad sweating problem..

like iivee tried 4326million different knds of

Sweating problems?
I'm so glad you asked. I've been dying to answer this question.

I used to have a sweating problem so bad that I didn't even like leaving the house.

I went to the doctor and she perscribed this stuff called drysol.

you put it on like 2-3 times a week before you go to bed and it is freaking AMAZING!

I don't sweat at ALL anymore. Even when I'm working out!

Just go ask your doctor about it. You will never have to worry about it again.
Reply:Hey

Erm...do you shave under your arms too much? Cause sometimes if you do that then it can make you sweat way more and nothing oyu can do can stop it.

If it continues then go to your doctor and he/she might be able to give you medication for it.

Hope it gets solved

=]
Reply:Talk to your doctor, sounds like "hyperhydrois" . There is help for you.
Reply:ok me too i had the same problem. Go to walmart or CVS and get the deodorant called ultra dry or certain dry! it works wonder just make sure you read the directions. You put it on at night so it shrinks your pores over night, but you cant put it on right after shaving and bathing. Best of luck!
Reply:DRYSOL.

thats all you need.

use it every night for four days.

then every other night for 2 weeks.

then you can start to taper off, i only use it once a month now.

it's amazing, your life will change, mine did!

Sweating problem.?

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best deoderant i could use if i sweat alot. I always seem to sweat more on the right side of my body than the left and i have tried different deoderants. So far i have tried old spice (mens), Dove (womans), right guard exteme (mens) and I have even gone to the pharmacy and gotten behind the counter deoderant called certain dri, and yet i have found that nothing prevents me from sweating alot. It really sucks because in the summer i have to wear a regular shirt on the way to work. Which is a 45 minute drive on the freeway, and then change when i get there. Even in the winter i sweat alot and it can be very embarrasing. Please help!!!!

Sweating problem.?
I second the drysol however I would DEFINATELY not reccommend using it that frequently. I use it once every 3 to 4 weeks. It you use it more than that you will feel some SERIOUS burning pain.

I used to sweat a ton even when I was cold, but with Drysol, I'm dry all the time, even if I'm working out.

It is only by prescription. it's pretty cheap though. I think I spent $8 and it lasted over a year.
Reply:My wife sweats a lot and she swears by the old school Secret Solid.
Reply:Try using Drysol. It stings a bit but typically works. You apply it every night for 3 nights, then every second night after that.

Also try soaking in a bath of lukewarm water with baking soda in it.
Reply:Try using anti-persperants. Instead of deoderants.

Other than that. Blame your parents for bad genetics.
Reply:Try to use a man's deoderant! Like Old Spice or something. No one ould notice the scent if you wear perfume! Also, use women's deoderant on top of that!
Reply:theres this adidas deoderant with cotton in it. its insane haha. it works really good. i'd try that :]

Sweating while sleeping?

Reply:how old are you, you could be going thru menopause, during which you will have night sweats.

Golfers sweating like a waterfall and anabolic steroids?

My goodness, I know it was hot at Southern Hills, but did you see how much a few of the players was sweating? There was one who really stood out. His pants were looked like they came out of a washer.

I didn't see many other golfers or their caddies (who lug around 30+ lb. golf bags) sweat like that from head to toe. This player's sweating just looks so much heavier than anyone else. Everyone was playing in the same heat.

I know a bunch of you will call me an idiot, but I think there are guys on tour taking steroids. I think Gary Player is a golfer of great integrity and I believe him more than any current tour pro. I also don't see why people ridiculed him for giving his insight.

Profuse sweating is also a sign of anabolic steroid use. Go look it up. You'll find many admitted steroid users talk about their abnormal sweating.

Golfers sweating like a waterfall and anabolic steroids?
Thats a good observation, and I know what you mean about Gary Player and the accusations of steroid use. I too think that some of the players are using steroids, and hearing Player say that he has talked to some is more reinforcement.
Reply:Today the temp was 100+ if you don't sweat you're dehydrated.Don't jump to conclusions, heat affects people in different ways, I sweat profusely and I'm not on any type of drugs.Sunday, seems to be an awfull lot of steroid users out there,Woods and the rest, they are all sweating. You need to remove your stupid question.
Reply:with the heat index its over 109 (and very humid) out on the golf course...have you ever played in heat like that...of course youre going to sweat, its your bodys way of trying to cool you off...this is a goofy post...
Reply:There may be golfers on steroids, but sweating isn't really an indication of it. Different people sweat differently, different fabrics show sweat more than others and certain colors do as well.

Even as a kid I sweat a lot more than others, but there were a couple of us that did sweat more for the same amount of work. 100+ degrees with high humidity means they all are sweating if they aren't dehydrated, it just will show on some more than others.
Reply:a properly hydrated body sweats when it is on the verge of over-heating - a person who does not sweat is dehydrated - I wouldn't necessarily link sweating to steroid use or all of the players in the NBA who sweat like they just stepped out of the shower are on the juice - John Daly was drenched with sweat, do you really think he takes steroids? As far as Gary Player, I love the Black Knight BUT why did he come out and say something like "I know for a fact here are players on steroids" and then not back it up with fact? Why bring it up unless you are willing to tell the whole story? Retief Goosen actually bad mouthed Gary Player for the way he handled himself during the whole steroid thing - Gary Player and Retief Goosen are both from South Africa and Retief grew up looking up to Gary - if he came out and said Gary was out of line, I'm gonna have to say he is right - are there players on the PGA Tour who do steroids and hgh and other banned things in other sports? It would be naive to say no but don't talk out your asss with "I know a guy who said blah blah blah but I can't tell you who it is..." total BS
Reply:Its true that the players were sweating like pigs, but I play golf here in ca and know the its hard and makes you sweat. Steroids make you big golfers aren't that big there strong but

they train different now that's all.

People who take roids look like wwf wrestlers freaks really Sergio, woods, goosen El's you think they take steroids?
Reply:my goodness, gee golly, I think if I even tried to stay outside and exercise in that kind of weather, I"d dump water on myself too, in order to try to stay cooler.
Reply:I sweat on the course like a horse - I change clothes at the turn and where I play it's like Southern Hills. I go through 5 gloves a round and still look like I got pushed in the river at the end of 18. My feet squish when I walk down the 18th.

I don't know if steroids are really used. And I'm not arguing with you but I really don't know. I wonder if it is really that big of an advantage. Driving is the only place where you can really see a difference - I think it's more to do with equipment and general fitness. If you are 200 yards out, does it make a difference if you use a 5 iron or a 6 iron? (or in my case, my 3 wood) These guys can hit all the shots and since so much of the game is on or within 100 yards of the green, I don't think steroids would prove helpful. I don't see putting being improved.

These guys are smart - they know (as we all do) the long term effects of steroid use. But then when the winner's purse can easily be a million bucks...

But an interesting question. And, you know, I wish we didn't even have to consider this stuff, but such are the times we live in.
Reply:Have you ever been in the Arkansas river valley where Tulsa is located? To say Hot and Humid is the understatement of the year. If you are properly hydrated in those conditions you are going to sweat profusely. Not that I totally discount the potential for steroid use...there is nothing that I saw on Saturday that would indicate their use at all.......Heck I did not play and stayed in the shade as much as I could and I was ringing wet clear down to my undershorts......and no I don't use steroids either lol
Reply:Steroids are not a part of golf. Everybody sweats when its 100+ outside. Some sweat more than others.
